Yes it is ,just get the site of the local paper and have a look at their small ads.if there are no offers from families you can place an ad. yourself for little money !
Paying guests ,that's what you would be called have a standard charge for the area .You might also ask your company sometimes they have families at hand !

Where in England? You can get a studio flat really easily but to find a family to lodge with is much more difficult. (And why would you want to do that instead of having your own place?)

Depends where in England your planning on going.
