I'm a 20 yr old female with endometriosis. I just started my period today, and I feel like I'm going to die. I have had to change my pad 4 times in the last hour. This is normal for me. There is no way that I can get to a doctor, or a hospital..and even if I could, I don't have health insurance and I don't get paid for another week. I used to be on bc pills and 10mg percocets for pain...it just didn't work. I've had a dnc and a scraping before, as well. That didn't work. I'm not able to get the surgery I need to get rid of this problem until I'm 21 or until I have atleast 2 children. I don't have any, and it would be hard for me to concieve and or carry. This condition that I am in is by far the worst I've experienced due to endometriosis in the past few years. I was diagnosed with it 7 years ago, even though my problems started way before that. I have to be at work at 12, and I don't get off until 10:30 tonight.

I'm scared that if I call off, I'll lose my job as I have 7 others in the past 2 years. I couldn't sleep a wink last night. I have a heating pad on my stomach and on my back. I've been told not to take anything (by a doctor) with acetomenephine in it because it tends to thin my blood. I've got a cup up hot tea infront of me with ginger in it..and a bagle with cramp bark and butter. I don't know what to do...

To those of you who understand what I'm going through and to those of you who don't, please don't tell me to go to a doctor. I can't. Yes, contrary to popular belief, some people just can't up and go to the doctor or to a hospital when they're in pain, or when they know something's not right with their body.

Since I haven't really posed a question, say something to make me feel better...or atleast take my mind off the agonizing pain for a bit. Don't be asssholes and leave a stupid comment.

It's not my decision on whether or not I wait to have children. It's the state's law on that particular surgery.....and, it costs alot of money.

I am going through the same exact thing right now. I was up all last night with mine, and this morning I almost passed out from the pain while making my childrens school luches. I don't wahat to say other than I sympathize, truely and deeply, all the best to you... I also know that nothing takes this pain away, I am on prescription pain killers and nothing works. No one can fully understand just how awful this disease is unless they have it.I am here if you need to talk about it..I am 29 with two kids

I am sorry. I do know what you are going through, but most of the time, I have been lucky enough not to work. I used to drink a lot of soda, and my conditions seemed worse then, I have no idea if it is really related. I went from one set of Midol to the next, for the first couple of days, and the heating pad... and when I was working I don't know how I did. I guess I just concentrated more on what I was doing than the pain, which is very HARD, almost impossible, I know.
I looked in the herb book, as a lot of times you can buy some - cheaper than a doctor visit, and since you are drinking ginger/tea, I figure you may be into this sort of thing. Remember I am not a doctor, and you should always research anything we say compared with your own body, and other meds you may be taking, but I am sure you know that. The person running the natural foods/herb store should be knowledgeable, and hopefully help you. I would call first as I am sure you don't feel like making a trip for nothing.
This book says that herbal products that are helpful with menstrual cramps are chamomile, blue cohash, (do not use this if you have high blood pressure, as it can really hurt you, and it can cause intestinal cramps,) chervil, (not familiar with this one,) and rosmary - is said to help relieve muscle cramps.
I also have some deep breathing exercises that I do, which are very relaxing. Breathe in through your nose until you feel your stomach rise, letting it fill your stomach and your lungs, then hold it for a few (about 4-5 seconds or so,) then exhale through pursed lips, like you are blowing on something. It does something to relax the muscles. Do this several times in a row.
I really hope you feel better, and wish you could take off, maybe if you have to go, the boss will have compassion on you and send you home. If not, just keep telling yourself, "I can get through this one minute." Because if you look ahead through the whole night, it may seem too hard. But you can get through one minute.

I am very sorry that you are going through this pain. You are very adamant that you can't go to the doctor so I guess that I won't bother telling you to go! Have you got any close friends or family that you can confide in?
Maybe you could search the web for more information on this condition, there has got to be some help groups or a number that you can call to get help.
I wish that I could give you more advice but I know very little about it. To control the pain could you take pain killers?
Good luck xx

I totally feel you I had surgery in March and my period is still heavy and painful, not as painful though. The pill minimizes the blood flow so they say its good - i cant take it. If your boss is female try to talk to her, every month for a week I stay home and I don t have any social life, but its not possible for everyone and not a solution.
Use plain panadol as very strong painkillers are addictive and the more you get your body gets use to it. Try to exercise during your non-period days, eat less dairy - weird but dairy increases the pain in endometriosis.
Good luck
I totally understand and I'm lost for words really

I don't have them as bad as you but I know how bad cramps can get. I don't know what to say to make you feel better except for what you are doing. A heating pad, hot tea, and maybe if you feel like it try a hot bath. The hot water does sometimes help. Maybe even listen to a favorite CD or watch a favorite movie or television show. I find that distracting myself sometimes does help for a short time. I hope that you feel better. Just hang in there.

In your circumstances, I think the idea of waiting to have two childrren is ridiculouse. You need some surgical intervention in the near future. Change doctors if necessary.
