Do you think Yahoo would actually do some thing about all these hatefull remarks people are making on this site, if we all spent 5 minutes a day reporting the abuse? It trashes up the place and defeats the purpose of the site. I've reported loads of people every time they make a comment, but still it continues.
So LGBT people, why are you not reporting non-stop?

They just come back with a new ID.
We've seen this evidenced with OLGA, HELGA, HELLCAT63, KATHY GRIFIN, DRPHIL.
They get reported, they get banned, they come back. It's like a bad penny you just can't seem to get rid of.
What we need to do is simply IGNORE them.
DO NOT RESPOND to them.
Do not feed their insatiable apatite for constant attention.

I do.
I go back to the night before, glance at the questions and report every question(and answers that I happen to spot) that the bashers and 'phobes post. I concider it alot like taking out the trash. 99% of the time I don't respond to them at all other than marking the post thumbs down so I can tell for sure where I have left off reporting. Yahoo seems to be about 24 to 30 hours behind in checking the reports but I do get a response from them every time they look at one that I have reported. I am currently in the process of copying every report acknowledgement and putting it on the same page as the hate-questions that are not removed for future actions that I have yet to decide. More than likely I will be sending them to the FCC.

I'm not L, G, B, or T... but I pop on every once in awhile to this section, and you can bet I report lots of them. I hope other people do the same.
I agree with another answer you received, that the only way to really stop it is to resist the urge to answer those questions with a snappy comeback. (Even though the comebacks can be very funny!)
If they didn't get any reponses, maybe then they'd stop.

a lot of people are, but since Yahoo! is a free site, and has the point system, it's easy to either just make up a new name or answer a few random questions to get back on the positive side to ask more questions

It's sad, but it probably wouldn't make much of a difference, this IS the internet, so this IS open to just about anything regardless of things like reporting.

The problem is that once you report them, and they are banned from the system, they just open another Yahoo account.
I report them too...you can only shovel shitt one scoop at a time.

I report sometimes but it does no good. They just keep coming back.
I think we would be better off ignoring them, as hard as that is, and not answering. They would eventually go away because it wouldn't be any fun anymore.
Peace

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I gave up on Yahoo! a long time ago. IMO, they've gotten so big that they forget about certain areas, like Yahoo! Answers. They're too busy worrying about other projects and sometimes customers and services get forgotten. I've noticed this in a couple of Yahoo!'s services, not just Answers.
They could take care of the trolls here, but we're not a big enough priority for them.

i used to spend about ten minutes every day
now i try to kill them with kindness
or just let them go they give soon enough
though i know i have a lot of veiws
mainly on religon that stir up a lot of people
i chose not to go to the religon section
as i would rather try not to attact people
even though they seem to attact a lot of the GLBTI here
