Pardon me while I have a pure ego moment, but I love the sound of my own voice. When I was younger, I had the misfortune of sounding "girly" on the phone...and was told that by several people. Talk about a self-esteem issue. Well, when my two favorite friends eventually "dropped" so did my octaves. And then, when I started getting into theatre I realized that I could, with practice and excercise, control my vocal chords and make it do what I wanted.
Because of that I was able to work as a radio DJ, make my voice heard from hundreds of feet away without yelling, and generally impress people (girls) on the phone. :-)

Yes,that happens to me all the time.Although I think I have a really nice voice when I'll hear myself on the machine or on video camera I think I sound like a bloody idiot! And it also makes me realise how much of a loud voice I have..

Yes... my idea of what my voice sounds like is really different from what it actually sounds like... I record myself on my phone and I sound like a completely different person. In French, the teacher recorded us speaking French and I sounded so weird!
I hate the sound of my voice at times... I'm 4 foot 11 so I have a sort of squeaky voice... Ugh! And at times my tongue feels too big for my mouth and it gives me a freaking lisp. But I don't THINK I have a lisp... Ugh!

My voice is a little bit harsh & my voice tone is somewhat nasal. My classmates used to laugh at my voice previously. Now they've become my friends 'n always help me to improve my voice-quality, they also give me tips on how to check harshness during campus-interview sessions. Now I've started to love my voice, coz I've realized that my outer-voice is not imporant, important is my words that I speak with the help of my inner-voice ... I always try to mean my words 'n I completely feel what I say with my heart.

Most of the time I love my voice, it sounds all sweet and innocent. Then there are times when I just want to rip out my vocal chords because I sound soo sweet.

lol, sometimes. I live in the southern U.S. so I have that long drawl to my voice....a very country accent. Sometimes I worry people that I meet from other places may judge me solely on that. Many people have the perception that a country accent shows your ignorance...it just isn't' true.

I like my voice when I'm listening internally, but it's hideous when I'm listening on an answering machine or something.
