What are some reasons the US should NOT end diplomatic relations with Saudia Arabia?

Sources would be greatly appriciated. I understand that there is a strong case for ending diplomatic relations, but I feel that ending diplomatic relations would cause them to hate the west even more.

Oil, billions of dollars worth of military and commercial contracts, access to military land bases and ports, and access to intelligence are a few of the reasons not to end diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia. Also, for their own reasons, they are staunch allies in the fight against Al Qaeda and other "deviant" groups.
