Don't concern yourself with where the rat is hiding... just get an big old fashioned rat trap, bait it with peanut butter and lure the rat out of his hiding place.

They can hide in the walls. We had a modular house put up and a rat came with the house from the factory!

well...rats like rotten stuff right?..they dig holes...live in trash...so u wud find them near garbage bins...basements...chawl areas...where there is alot of rotten stuff!
