Water Pollution & Conservation
Water is a precious resource, and a resource we depend on for our life. Nearly 97% of the world's water is salty or otherwise undrinkable. Another 2% is locked in ice caps and glaciers. That leaves just 1% for all of humanity's needs -- all its agricultural, residential, manufacturing, community, and personal needs. Many factors can affect our water from population growth to drought conditions.
To help sustain water quality and quantity, we can all do our part to reduce water waste and water pollution. The Earth 911 Water Section offers information about how to conserve water in and around your home and various water-related education resources, including information on Stormwater and Beach Water Quality.
