What do i need? Where do i go to get?
I am wanting to take a vacation to Jordan I have never been out of the Us. Could someone please explain what i will need and where do I go to get it. (Remeber when answering i need details i have never traveled outside the country).

Make sure you have a Passport. Visas are required by all visitors to Jordan. These are issued at both the border and airport upon arrival, and are also easily procured from the Jordanian Embassy in London.
Voltage: 220 Volts. Sockets are of the European, 2 pronged variety. If taking a hairdryer or camcorder, be sure to pack a power adaptor.
It is recommended that you be vaccinated for Tetanus and Polio, if you haven't had a booster in the last ten years. Food and waterborne diseases are more common, so we recommend vaccinations for typhoid (valid 3 years) and Hepatitis A (validity varies).
Additionally, be vaccinated for Meningitis due to recent reports that have indicated its presence. Finally, pack some aspirin for ingestion prior to your flight. This may help to ward off DVT.
Recommended Vaccinations: Tetanus, Polio, Typhoid, Hepatits A, and Meningitis.
The best time to travel to Jordan is before or after the tourist season, i.e. May and early June and between late september and end of October unless you like hot days. May ,September and October the tempretures is very pleasent and in the 70's. during that time you still could go tto the dead sea, petra and Aquaba. In July and August gets to be very hot and dry. however the nights are very pleasent in Amman dueing the summer months. People enjopy walking in the evening and into the night during the summer moinths. No rain in the summer. The dead sea, PeteraPetra and Aquaba are wonderful in the winter time. the temperture is in the 70's and you will be able to swim in warm waters where Europe and most of the United States is very cold.
jordan is very westernized when it comes to clothing. For the summer months business casual is best for evening if you are going to eat out, drink and go dancing. No one wears shorts in public!! Pants and short sleeve shirt is the norm during the day unless you are on business then a suite is the norm. You need a swimming outfit or two since most hotels have a swimming pool. also a light jacket is recommended. Same goes for women. For dinner parties and formal invitation women tend to be fashionable.

Please get the very best hotels around, culture and tradition of people in Jordan is also important. Plan the trip with the days to spend, financial involvement and other touring requirements.

You need to call a travel agent and tell them you are thinking about going (tell them were) if they think they are going to book it for you they will tell you everything you need to have Good luck. :)
