Vegas is okay if you stay on the strip cops everywhere on the strip they are always there . I used to work in vegas and I stayed and lived in the hotel for a while. I honestly never felt safer in my life lots of security in the hotels. Just be carefull and know your surroundings. Good Luck and god bless.

Las Vegas has an excellent Police Force. First of all you won't see many people wearing costumes outside on the Strip. Maybe downtown you might. Downtown is relatively safe but somewhat seedy. The strip is very safe if you use normal precautions. Costumes won't be worn much also because casino's don't want to allow a security threat. So relax. It is usually rather cold at night around Halloween also.

Don't believe the fear-mongering extremists. They don't know what they're talking about.
Las Vegas is an exceptionally safe place to visit. Not only does it have a police force far larger than any other city of similar size, it also has one of the most sophisticated private security forces in the world.
With regards to Halloween costumes, it won't be much different from any other day. Las Vegas is always full of people in costumes (mostly casino workers in dresses that fit the theme of the establishment...i.e. Caesars = Roman costumes, Luxor = Egyptian costumes, Hilton = Star Trek costumes...and so forth).

I wouldn't be concerned at all. I have spent a lot of time in Vegas and I have never felt like I was not safe. Now keep in mind, if you are going to be out drinking and roaming around late at night, you are taking your chances just like anywhere in the US. i would highly suggest that you stay on the Strip and that if you have a distance more than a couple of blocks you hail a cab.
To be honest, people act a fool all the time in Vegas, so it might be interesting to see a few more dressed up even more bazaar than usual!

Las Vegas is the sin city capital of the USA. Murder and rape and robbery happens all the time in Vegas. It is a city known for its decadence and excess. Halloween has nothing to do with it!

nothing dangerous at all here as long as keep to the Casino Center Downtown, the Strip or whatever locals casinos you are visiting. No basis for any fear.
