Speaking as a man, we like TOYS. Lots of toys. But we never admit they are toys.Last Christmas my fiancee bought me a meccano set, (it's not a toy it's practical physics) a doll dressed as a Grenadier Guardsman (it's not a toy it's a collectable item) and a mini-scalextric (it's not a toy it's a skilled game.)
Find out if he likes Doctor Who or not as there's loads of toys (no, they're collectable items) for it everywhere. I've bought my Brother in law to be a talking Cyberman for Christmas which I know he's going to love as he's a big fan, only to hear his wife say a couple of days ago that Cybermen scare her so much she dives into the kitchen when they're on.....oh well that'll be this year's Christmas row then! :) In Rugby or Cricket see if you can get ANYTHING signed by a big name. Even a jockstrap. He'll be boasting down the pub for weeks about it.
Hope that's useful.

Get him some sort of experience - 4x4 driving day, Ferrari driving, hot air balloon ride, a behind the scenes tour of his favourite sports stadium, clay pigeon shooting, trip on the Orient Express etc. etc. etc.
All of these would probably come within your very generous budget.
There are loads of companies that offer this sort of thing now. It really is something to remember.
Have a great time, and I hope that he really appreciates you!

You can buy like days out on racing tracks and to drive sports cars and stuff, guy's like that sort of thing, or if he's a soppy kinda guy buy him something sweet like a star or something. Or something really personal, you don't need to spend a fortune to do that though.

Take him out shopping and give him a limit to suit your budget. That way he gets what he wants and you also spend the time together!!
