To answer your question it's because they are ignorant. To give further detail... They don't know anything about human sexuality (ignorance) and don't forget, sex is a sin to many of them. They also follow a book written many millenia ago, far before Psychology began. Most of all, though, they don't like gays and think they 'should' be straight. They think 'straight' is normal. They think gays are immoral, meaning they must be promiscuous, meaning they must be somehow addicted to it. Their conclusions were based on thought, but have no empirical evidence supporting them... meaning that they are most likely (and are in this case) twisted into favoribility.
