I'm 12, and I plan to go on Trick or Treating until it starts getting boring (which will probably be around my 20's lol), but personally I dont think there is or should be any restriction on when you can and cant go trick or treating. Once I give up Trick or Treating, I'll most likely give candy to anybody. I could seriously care less how old the person is on my doorstep asking for candy (I mean, if they're like..95, I might take some caution, who knows what candy might do to them.). So yeah. I say you can go out trick or treating until you're ready to stop.

Once kids are over 16 then they should stop trick or treating. This is mainly because people start getting annoyed if they think the kids that come to the door are "too old". And the general perception of teenagers is not great. People tend to think they are just being "greedy" for candy and forget that they are still kids. They do not officially become adults until they are 18.
In my opinion, you are never too old to trick or treat or to enjoy halloween. Personally I wouldn't care if older teens came to my door. Kids grow up too fast these days and as a parent, I like the fact that my daughter still enjoys trick or treating. She goes all out on her costumes and always looks great.
The candy is not the only reason kids like halloween. They like the spooky atmosphere, they like seeing all the different costumes, they like seeing how people decorate their houses and the atmosphere they create, and they enjoy experiencing it with their friends. I don't see anything wrong with that.

I think 8th grade should be the last year that a child goes out trick or treating. After that, I think you are too old for it. You can go to a Halloween party with your friends, or pass out treats to younger kids, but you shouldn't be out there with them.

I'll probably be trick-or-treating well into college.
There are some things that almost never lose their charm.
I think I'm going to go with Eponine from Les Misérables this year.
What's wrong with doing it if the costume is well done?

13 maybe. I don' t like to see big kids trick or trating, 1/2 the time they don't even have a costume. By them, you can throw a prty or go to one. It's more for little kids-in my opinion

I would say 12 or 13. Just about 6th grade is my son didn't want to go anymore. Just depends on your area. One community nearby just allows up to sixth grade. They hand out a wrist band in school, that way you know who is young enough to receive the treats.

I pretty much agree with sirius black. As long as they are dressed up then I don't really care much. What I have a problem with is the kids who are older and don't even bother dressing up and just wear regular clothes and smear some fake blood on their faces. That isn't right.
