Beware the fabled cockroach. A rampant beast that scuttles around terrifying innocent people who really ought to know better than to be terrified of a tiny creature. :-)
They're pretty common in humid tropical countries like Indonesia and not really in Europe. They also freak the hell out of me.

I am an Indonesian who is currently studying in the UK. I don't think you will see any strange-looking insects there. Well, unless you go to the rainforests or something =)
But if you stay in the cities, you can be rest assured that you won't find any freaking insect which is common there but unknow to Europeans.
I hope you'll enjoy your visit to Indonesia! Have a good time!! =D

Maybe....I had a nightime encounter with a Sumutran tiger near an oil well I was working on and I screamed and ran like a girl. 2 days later it came back and ate one of the Indonesian rig crew. When my hitch was up I left and never went back.

You might see a komodo dragon! They have those there. Of course, they're NOT running around wildly in the cities, but they still have them in Indonesia. Maybe in zoos?

No, no, no. Unless you go to a forest or non-city areas. In cities there are normal creatures only.
