Not really.
Color safe bleach is based on dried hydrogen peroxide with other whitening and color brightening chemicals added. Chlorine bleach is sodium hypochlorite, a very strong bleaching and disinfecting chemical. Hydrogen peroxide poured into a wound works because it bubbles out dirt and germs and is a very mild disinfectant. Certainly not strong or concentrated enough to be effective as a disinfectant in a laundry tub filled with water, dirty clothes and detergent.

My tub of OxyClean (similar to the Chlorox product) does NOT say anywhere about being a disinfectant, although the label makes lots of claims about all the stuff you can clean with it.

Don't trust a hydrogen peroxide-based bleaching product like OxyClean or a color safe bleach to disinfect your laundry when you add it. If you follow the package instructions, your clothes will be more safely whitened, but the germicidal action of chlorine bleach won't be there.
