A barometer displays a reading of atmospheric pressure. The measurement units are either in millimetres or inches of a column of mercury, or milibars. A Pascal is a unit of pressure, meaning a pressure per square metre exerted by mass of one kilogram; in SI units a Pascal is defined as 1 newton/meter² or 0.01 millibar.
