Playing my husband in two leagues this weekend and need to pick up a decent defense, my starter is on bye. Here are my choices: San Diego (vs KC), Arizona (vs Oak), Dallas (vs NYG) Denver, MInnasota, st. louis and carolina.

If you have a suggestion that is not mentioned above please let me know, and also the "why" you would pick them.

I beat him the last time we played and am the only one that has, he is #1 and I am # 2 in this league.

Thanks for your help!

I love the Chargers, but KC could put up points in a hurry with their weapons (even with a backup QB). I personally would go with Denver. They have only allowed 1 TD all year and they are playing Cleveland. Cleveland has NO running game and a weak QB. I would look for Denver to force several turnovers. It's your choice, but I would rank Denver first, Chargers second, and Arizona. I don't like the matchups with Carolina, Minnesota and Dallas and St. Louis is on a bye. Good Luck.

I agree with the last poster about Denver. They haven't allowed but one TD all season as above mentioned, and Cleveland's offense isn't exactly great.

San Diego also has a good defense but they have to go to Kansas City to play (a road game in Arrowhead) a Chiefs team that was pasted by the Steelers last week. They are sure to be pissed off about that. Recent pissed off teams or players can produce great results the next week. For example, Jacksonville's defense, after getting peppered by the Redskins for a 36-30 loss responded next week by hammering the Jets 41-0; a game in which Laveranues Coles was angry he wasn't getting enough touches and now last week he hauled in 5 catches for 106 yards and 2 TD's.

However, both these teams' defenses are pretty good, and unless your regular starter is like Chicago, I'd make a strong case to pick up one or both of them and keep them.

My two cents!

I would go with Denver against Cleveland. The Cleveland running game has been weak with Droughns slugging along. With no ability to run against a tough Denver run defense, Charlie Frye will have a tough day attempting to pass the ball. Denver will be able to focus on blitzing Frye, which will lead to INTs and a possible defensive TD. The SD and DAL defenses are good, but they have tougher opponents to face than Denver.

Take San Diego

the are great with the run Deffence and the Chiefs run the hole game

and San Diego are doing very good against the Pass so far

and one more reason the will get after the QB alot and give you sacks

San Diego. KC's offense is in shambles right now. They barely scored 7 against Pittsburgh. SD has a better defense than Pitt, so I would expect more of the same.

A lot of great choices there, but I think you'd have to be leaning towards the Chargers. Their defense has been surprisingly stonewall this year, and they have a great matchup against the Chiefs - who have looked shakey since practically day one.

Best of luck - I'm head-to-head with my partner in a league too, so I know how high the stakes are!!

umm Denver is the obvious choice here, they've only let up 1 td this entire season and it was rushing not passing, if you don't take them then SD is your next choice as they are playing a qb who is still developing and learning the system.

I think SD is the obvious choice, given their tough D. Personally I am taking a chance on Minnesota (v. sea) because I have the ravens on a Bye.

You could go with AZ cause the Raiders suck and look how many turnovers the Cards caused against the Bears.

Take Carolina's "D" it is your best bet!!!!!! I am a huge fantasy player and watch them all closely. Don't take St.Louis they have a bye this week.
