What's the difference?
I'd rather be stuck at a hard place.

Hard place to me sounds sort of flat, while a rock is almost certainly jaggard - so it would be a hard place so I could at least have a lie down and think about stuff.

Neither thanks, I've had my share of been stuck between a rock and a hard place, life's too short and I prefer to chill out these days.
