Anyone else out there still a fan of Shakin Stevens? I've liked him for 19 years (since I was 5) and his music never gets tiresome for me. I just want to know if it's considered still "cool" to like him or if I need to keep this quiet and move on with the times? It doesn't bother me what other people think, I just want to know whether he has as big a fanbase as "The Hoff". If not we should all unite and get his single Now Listen to number one when it's released.

Anyone else with me??

I do, I have a Teac one with a built in tape deck. Not the best in the world but it gets the job done until I can afford an upgrade. BQ: Ooooh... I'll have to say 'Blood Fire Death' by Bathory. It was one of the first records I got and I've always considered it my "point of no return" as far as listening to metal goes. BQ2: Nothing major, I'm very careful with them and no one else touches them (no one who doesn't know how to handle them, anyway). I've gotten a few secondhand ones that weren't in the best condition but none of them have been too bad. The quality of some newer records and old picture discs can be a bit dodgy, too. BQ3: Eh, maybe about 80 LPs/DLPs, 20 or so 10" records and another 20 7" EPs and splits. Plus 50 tapes and about 300 CDs. BQ4: Depends on where I am. I end up listening to my iPod most of the time because I'm out of the house a lot these days. I listen to both CDs and records at home, it depends on what format I have. I only have a record player in my room, though, so if I'm doing something in any other part of the house it has to be a CD. I never liked playing music on the laptop and I only really do it if I'm listening to something on YouTube/Bandcamp/Soundcloud/etc..

I'm not a huge fan of his but I did go and see him about five years ago in concert with my aunt. He performed in a little hall somewhere in London (I can't remember exactly where) but from what I remember I had a brilliant time.

Er, no love, not with you at all - Shakin Stevens was *B*ollocks when he was out. I also seem to remember he had a fat four eyed wife with kids as well.

I'm not a big fan, but I do know he has had more chart hits in the U.K than almost any other artist which means he can't be all bad!

I like him, he`s pretty unique. My band used to play a version of "Green Door", and people loved it.
