If the US cared about what the UN had to say then I guess we wouldn't be in Iraq. The UN was against that but did it matter to us.

It's interesting that you aren't asking if Kim Jong IL or if Mahmoud Ahmadinejad cares what the UN has to say. Why is that? Do you all believe it is alright for these leaders to defy UN resolutions?
Of course the United States cares. We wouldn't be going to the UN time and time again to get support and continually promoting and supporting resolution after resolution that the UN refuses to enforce. The United Nations is an organization that exists to represent your interests also. Why aren't you concerned that they are only effective in allowing totalitarian regimes to continue down the path of world domination? Don't you want freedom? Do you want communism and Islamic Fascism to rule your world?
It's easy to sit back and make snide comments about a country and it's leadership. Where will you all be when North Korea decides to sell their nuclear weaponry to some rogue regime and the bombs start landing in your backyards? Remember, those that hate freedom aren't only targeting the US. As far as that goes, they haven't been successful in pulling off any of those attacks since our government made fighting them a priority. London (twice), Madrid, Bali, Istanbul, Casablanca and Jakarta? There have been at least twenty-two *known* terrorist attacks around the world since 9/11. Not one of these are in the US. Yet we are fighting the terrorist worldwide and most of the time we get ridiculed and blamed for everything that happens. You have Islamic Fascists influencing policy in countries all over the world. France, Great Britain, The Netherlands. Europe in general is losing its identity to the Muslims. Yet Europe (in general)condemns the US. Countries in Africa, Asia, MiddleEast and now South America are becoming havens to the terrorists. Where is your concern about this? I want one person to tell me that France isn't in a crisis where Muslims potentially taking over that country is concerned.
Keep condemning the US. Keep undermining the leaders of our country. The day will come when we all will pay a price that none of us can afford.
I hope you all are enjoying this. Keep it up.

Right now, the US doesn't care what anybody says. Just look at thier treatment of france over thier objection to the war in Iraq. Its why many countries in the world hate the USA. There is an arrogant we are better than everyone else attitude from a country that claims "all men are created equal".
The only time the US listens to the UN is when they need them for something.

Well, I disagree with your characterization. Generally we try to reach consensus. It is just that every so often, if we don't reach consensus and act as we think (or our government thinks) we should, we actually can do that. Those particular actions are higher profile.
However, while we care what the international community thinks, no, I don't think we give a fig about the United Nations.
We care about Australia, though, if that is where you are from. (Guessing from your user name.)
