There are no more ambulance driver's the term is politically incorrect and offensive. The "drivers" are skilled EMTs and EMT Paramedics. Runs are not itemized they are categorized into BLS (Basic life support) and ALS (Advanced Life Support). If you had an EKG or an IV was started, then it was ALS. The people who treated you don't make a lot and don't see much of what you were billed. Don't blame them.
