As a mother myself, I don't know how she could have gone to that country and picked 1 child out of how many???
I could not have picked one child over another, I'm sorry....
She would have been better thought of if she had sponsored the whole orphanage??????
Keeping the kids in their native land would have been better

OK. I am not by any stretch of the imagination a fan of Madonna's. Never will be. That said I must stand up and defend her. First of all, how can you say this child was kidnapped? The father had ALREADY given him up. He was sitting in an orphanage ALREADY waiting to be adopted by someone. Don't you think he was fortunate to be chosen by someone in a position to give him a life most people around the world only dream of? Yes, it would be nice if she had supported the entire orphanage instead. However those children would still be living in an ORPHANAGE. So one jumped ship and now has a chance at an above-normal life. Is that really so wrong?

I STILL don't understand why big stars like her and Jolie and Sharon Sone and all the rest can't adopt children from the U.S.?
I realize there are millions of kids that need help all over the world. Why not start here? There are kids that live in cages, there are kids that are dying from hunger here. Is it the publicity they do it for? Jolie wants to adopt a child from every country, does that include the U.S.? I doubt it..........
There are places here on our own soil that are as bad as they are in other places. What does our government do? Give billions and billions of dollars OVER THERE.....................
Never will make any sense to me........Anyone heard that old saying, "charity begins at home"?
Do you really think Madonna or any of the rest really have hands on raising of these adopted kids or their own?? These kids are raised by nannies and carted around by other people. Sure they have money and the "material" things, but what about the rest??

Yes, children are being kidnapped to be adopted. Sometimes the children are stolen, sometimes the mothers are lied to, sometimes the family sells a child. Of course, there are lots of children truly in need of homes as well. People who do international adoption have a responsibility to really research the country, their agency, and how the children come into care. How I know my children were not kidnapped? With our first adoption, from Asia, we worked with someone who felt strongly about ethical adoption. She knew we'd only take a referral where the birth mother was identified. We had dna testing done to verify that this woman really was our son's mom (in case the agency was lying to us). We then had someone not affiliated with adoption, native to that country, visit with our son's mom & check that the story we were told was true. We have remained in touch with her for years now. For our second adoption, we chose Ethiopia because our agency arranged for us to meet our children's first family. We also had requested older children, because they could tell us their story and confirm that what we were told was true.

How come this baby was even allowed into this country without serious questions being asked at Passport Control?
Are the Social Services aware of the situation and if so what are they going to do about it?
A few years back did an American couple not try the same thing with twins and were they not stopped from adopting them?
There are more than enough children at home in the UK in need of homes, and it's not necessarily people with money who make the best parents.
What name????.....sorry....that's unprintable.

Children are sold in to the sex industry every day and no one say's a word? A celebrety gives a child a decent start in life and the whole world has an opinion. Have I missed something?

Why attack Madonna? She has done a great cause, she cannot adopt 100s but she can adopt one or two and that's what she has done. Instead of complaining let us do something useful.
