He seems to be wanting to portray Judge Dread. Judge, Jury and Executioner.

The legislation also says the president can "interpret the meaning and application" of international standards for prisoner treatment

As the Governor of Texas that born again Christian was a pretty good Executioner. At that time he had the highest score rate in America. As of recently he judged the American people badly, the Americans (the Jury) found him out and found him guilty of being incompetent, dishonest and just to be a show pony.

The image he is sending to the world is that America means war.

But that is not the most important thing to them, staying in power is. He won the last election because he convinced the good people of the USA that because the global terrorists had waged war so terrible, only he could pull you out of it.

Lesson #1: He got you into it.

Islam is not an evil race. Muslims are largely normal everyday people like us, eating breakfast and watching soap opera TV.

Terrorists are terrorists, and extremists are hiding behind their faiths all over the world whether they are Protestant, Catholic, Muslim etc.

For 25 years buses were blowing up in England because of the Northern Ireland dispute. I didn't see a witch hunt for the Irish from our friends in Washington, because a large portion of the American communtiy is of Irish descent so couldn't be portrayed as boogeymen who eat hand grenades for breakfast.

Wake up America, call an election and next time vote for someone who wants to save the planet, not destroy it.

He prepares the image of a crusader against evil; someone against impossible odds. He forwards his policies not as proposals- but as simultaneously sensible yet desperate necessesities to protect the -immediate- lives of people.

He's not a Judge Dredd; he sticks to his 'tough stance' to portray strength and loyalty. Unforunately, I can only see him as a liar who lies to cover up his lies.. and that he's just the face of the entire Administration. Does he look like the decison maker to you?

He wants to look tough.

He projects instead the image of an illiterate, compulsive and uneducated president who lucked out after Clinton's scandal took victory from the Democrats

Oh, he's trying to be goody-two shoes and pretend he's not doing anything wrong! But to tell you the truth, Bush's smile is hiding his ugly side. Why? He's been doing a lot of bad things in office, and you know that's already grounds for impeachment!
