You're gonna be sittin' with the WDVE psychos & havin' a blast! It's a little cool in the Igloo' but you'll be rockin' so hard, you'll never notice it. Try to get there about 6:30 so you can see the pre-skate & watch the guys warm up. Don't listen to those morons that say the Arena is a lousy place to watch a game. Sure, it's old, but you can see well from every seat, the ice is in good shape & the Pens have a great, exciting young team that's smokin' to watch. Don't let some fool that has never watched a game there ruin your fun with lies. I've been to games all over the league & Pittsburgh & it's fans make the games a blast. ENJOY!

I haven't been to one since I was younger. It is kind of cold but not freezing. Make sure you wear a jacket and you will be fine. It's actually a lot colder at a Steelers game! If you like hockey then I'm assuming you will have a good time. Have fun!

A very dull, poorly lit arena with an equally dull and poorly lit team.

Hockey is a fan experience - and I don't believe the Mellon offers that experience like other places in the NHL. I assume you're from Pittsburgh - therefore you don't have a choice in the matter of where you go to see NHL hockey.

However, I might suggest, go to the Mellon, watch the Pens - and then, save up some money, take some friends and road trip over to Philly to see the Flyers at the Wachovia Center. The two experiences would be like night and day. Especially with the new LED Hi-Def scoreboard at the Wachovia Center (which is an experience in itself).

Are you going to the Pens, NJ game?? If so, you will see the next superstar in the making's first game!!!

BTW, Pens fans are the quietest in the NHL. But if you go tomorrow, they will definitely have something to cheer about!!

Have fun.

PS All there is to eat is nachos and hot dogs!. Disgusting. haha

It's not cold at all with 15,000 to 20,000 people in there and the cold air staying low due to the laws of physics.

Expect fast action, so don't blink. Much.

You should expect to see little black and white birds falling all over the ice as they try to waddle around with skates on and hang on to the stick at the same time.
