They're absurd. Why? Because how would the (predictable) motion of stars and planets affect a person? And since the motions are predictable, why not chart your whole life?

Why do different horoscopes for the same sign, same day, disagree?

Why are they so vague and general? People read meaning into them. Talk about fooling yourself.

It's pure rubbish to believe in horoscopes. People want a safety net for their lives.

I think it holds a 'little' credibility.

I don't think we are born with 'blank slates', we start off with 'basic personalities'. These basic personalities are described in our horoscopes.

But many more other factors affect our lives greatly, (ie. where we are born in the family, an only child? the youngest? the eldest?... were we abused? neglected? spoilt?)

At best, our horoscope (our basic personality) is the basis whereby we measure the rest of our lives. How we react to life and what our 'tendencies' are to all of the other stuff that happens to us.

Why do babies react differently when they have almost no experience to go on? Where does the basic personality come from besides genes? Personally I suspect that there is something to horoscopes / astrology.

After all, the whole world (even a woman's menstrual cycle) is affected by the planets and the cycle of the earth in it's orbit. Why not our personalities?

I used to read my horoscope all the time. It interests me all this star chart business and it denoting your traits and destiny etc

If I'd have carried on reading the horoscopes of everyone I have ever known I would be serioulsy screwed up right now and paranoid.

With horoscopes all signs of the zodiac are the same; Leo's are the same, loud, confident, centre of attention, well I'm not, I'm actually quite shy and lacking in confidence until I actually get to know a person, with my firends I'm lound and kind of confident but I have never liked being centre stage, in fact I could'nt think of a worse place to be!!!

In fact I had a bad upbringing, my mum is a Taurus and I'm the Leo child, I know have nothing to do with my mum because of things in the past but with my daughter I'm the leo mum and she's a taurus child if I still believed in horoscopes and stars I'd have mine and my daughter's bond breaking up now surely?

Well I think I've ranted on enough haven't I pmsl

Is astrology a religion (belief is the core) or a science (is open to testing for validity)? If the former, to who or what is your god. Or just have a leap of faith. If the later where is the evidence to make it valid? It's one of the above or none.
