I wonder...is it possible that our energies, souls, spirits...or whatever, are being transported to another birth? Would we even remember any part of our erstwhile existences? Could it be that our dreams are reflections of the subconscience of what we once were?
I dunno.
There is so much that is misunderstood. Especially within the ancient philosophies.
The only problem that i see with re-incarnation is that the population is always growing. If every death provided a life, then would not the number of lives remain the same? Where are all of the new "souls" coming from?

I personally believe in reincarnation because I had memories of previous lives when I was very young. Don't want to sound slightly crazy or anything but I remembered a specific room when I was maybe two or three & it's still pretty clear in my mind it had a piano & purple flowers & a door that lead into the garden which didn't resemble the period or style of my own home. I also remembered a guy with blond hair & blue eyes on crutches and feeling like I was being taken away from him against my will. Also when I was at secondary/high school I felt as though I was repeating something I'd already done. I have a strong belief in reincarnation because of my own expereinces & strangely enough I've always been attracted to guys with blond hair & blue eyes ever since my first crushes on actors etc. they've all fitted that description.

I also saw a documentary recently on channel 5 (UK) about a young boy who kept speaking of his other mum & other family in an island called Barra in Scotland. He was now born & living in mainland Scotland, was only about 4 or 5 years old, yet spoke vividly about planes landing on the beach, his old house overlooking the sea & his previous surname which was Robinson. When he went to visit the island sure enough the aircraft landed on the beach, they found a house fitting his exact description & even more convincingly a family named Robinson had lived there. It was so strange that the usually cheerful little kid just completely froze & looked to be deeply moved & in deep contemplation as they walked around the house.

Of course no one can prove reincarnation actually occurs but I'm certainly convinced!!!

Unfortunately reincarnation is highly implausible.

Why is this? Because the world we live on is constantly growing in the number of living things! If reincarnation happens then where do all the new souls come from to fill these new bodies?

This is what I think. I know it seems like a simple explanation as to why it can't happen, but then again, if one believes in reincarnation I think they would base it completely on faith anyway. So take my explanation along with others' and decide for yourself.

Best Regards,
Zach

I believe it does.
When you look at nature, from the tiniest observations we make concerning atoms to the largest including solar systems, there is one constant--circular motion.
Electrons orbit the nucleus in much the same way as planets orbit the stars. Think of the water cycle--another circular occurence; or the days and the seasons. Everything seems to be moving in a circular motion.
The Native Americans, who were far more connected to nature than we, believed in a circular time also, rather than the linear timeline most Christian societies adopted. They didn't believe in a beginning or an end. They believed EVERYTHING was reincarnated. That's why they cared about the environment so much. They believed they were walking on the ashes of their grandfathers.
Is it possible that life itself progresses in a circular pattern also? I mean, living things decay and become soil which helps make the growth of new living things possible. Why would mankind have a different fate and a different process than the laws of nature--which are constant and unchanging?
Reincarnation of the body is already proven (life, death, decay, birth, life). I believe the soul has the same fate as everything else--a new season.

If there is such a thing as reincarnation, then either some or all of us are living proof. Although physically speaking there's no evidence to prove this, Spiritually there's no reason to disbelieve that the human soul cannot be reincarnated.

No. What mechanism would there be for that? The mind is a process that requires a brain to work. Once you die, that function stops. There's nothing that floats away to another body somewhere. There is no credible evidence that there are any spirits or reincarnated people. There is plenty of evidence that your mind's function is diminished as the brain is damaged until you lose even a sense of self. Any part of your mind, such as your emotions, your memories, your ability to think can be selectively taken away with damage to your brain. There is nothing of it that would exist without the brain.

It really depends on how you want to look at it!
If you are thinking spiritual reincarnation then I guess the Hindus corner that market in terms of reanimation of bodies with the spirit of someone dead, depends what you did in your life as to what or whom you come back as.However I have a simpler handle on it. when you die you are either buried or cremated. if you are buried the first thing you come back as, is a maggot, after all your protein is what feeds 'em if you're cremated then your ashes will fertilise whatever they are scattered on. either way your essence is back in the loop and being used in living matter . Some of the components of your body was once in something else living. Nice thought I think?

It could and it could not. It is according on much you belive in it if you think it really happens. I can't say for sure. It would be neat though. If I was reincarnated I would want to be a cat. They are very domestic animals and I'm a very domestic person.
