In November Intel will launch it's "Quad-Core" processor. True, the market will be limited at first, but the demand will grow as soon as AMD gets in the act early in the new year. As the demand for the "Quad-Core" grows, the prices on the "Dual-Core" processors should come down. I'd guess, mid to late 2007.

I`m guessing you are talking about Intel`s Core 2 Duo cpus - they will most likely not change in pricing in near future. There has been some talk about the new quadcore, but it will be expensive and not affect "normal" dual core prices. AMD dualcore dropped prices significantly some months ago and are not expected to alter their prices significantly in the near future.

Many forums recommend the Intel E6300, E6400, E6600 cpus as a good deal right now. Also the x2 from AMDs at the same pricerange.

Pretty stable now. Its too new for it to go down right now. Basic P4 will start to go down, but not the dual core. Prices won't come down until there is too much supply, or the next generation processor comes out.
