I think that the economy is good in spite of the war. Tax cuts, like the Republicans have brought forth, spur the economy to do better, and it works. Put the Democrankies back in office and let them tax the bejesus out of everyone who works for a living and you'll see the economy go right back down again.
PS Things would be better in Michigan if your products were a little more competitive.

The American economy is not in good shape, what part of America do you live in. High gass prices, no jobs and prices on everything continue to sky rocket out of control. War use to be good for countries because it increased the production of materials need to great weapons etc, this war is not the same it is more high tech then ammo etc, so the manufacturing areas have not been hired to make things like they use to.

Well yes,, if you considder lining the pockets of the chosen few to be a great economy, I guess for you it must be. All I know is I am having hamburger for dinner far to often.
quote
"
the economy is doing good because of the hated tax cuts. Why are they hated? I have no idea. probably becaause people who vote for democrats see someone doing well and get pissed off about it. Do the math! Would you rather get 15% of 100,000 or 10% of 200,000? Most libs would rather get the higher rate which brings in $5,000 less revenue, simply because they can't stand the fact of someone else doing well. "
Simple question,,,,,
Are you doing well,,, or are you tooting someone elses horn.
I see a lot of "Republicans" hocking their guns and jewels inorder to make their house payment.

War is only good for the economy because it seems to get people off their feet.
Of course, with that said - it's true, war is good for the economy. If only people would get off their feet for peace... oh well!

War usually has a stimulating effect on the economy, as soliders need supplies and weapons.

It might be good for the economy, but it is sacrilegious to the soul..... a country that depends upon war and aggression to maintain its economy.... is a doomed economy.

That is a stupid question - it's certainly not been good for Iraq's economy or Lebanon's for that matter. It just can act as a Keynesian increase in spending to spend your way out of a downturn.
