I heard now that since Billy Blanks trains the reserves with his boot camp that Taebo is recognized as a sport. I have been doing it for seven years six to seven days a week and I was wondering if there were any Olympic or other competions out there. Thank you.

It is like kick boxing but Billy Blanks invented it twenty years ago.

Tae Bo® is an aerobic exercise routine developed by tae kwon do practitioner Billy Blanks®, and was one of the first "cardio-boxing" programs to enjoy commercial success. It is not and it has never been an Olympic sport. The International Olympic Committee recognized taekwondo sparring in 1980, and the sport was accepted as a demonstration event at the 1988 Seoul and the 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympic Games. It became an official medal event as of the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. Taekwondo is one of two Asian martial arts (judo being the other) in the Olympic Games.

No, it's not.

In fact, taekwando, another Billy favorite, was considered to drop off the list of Olympic sports in 2005. Fortunately, it stayed on.

But there is a lot of politics going on before a sport is taken up as an Olympic sport. Sheer numbers of people playing the sport doesn't seem to count.
