No. By some scientific calculations planet earth could easily be populated by up to 12 billion people, today's majors issue is not the lack of the right resources, even though some are more harder to come by then others but this is more about the right distribution, and by my opinion right education. So with right distribution, and with proper education we could reduce the poverty to much more acceptable levels.

I believe that it comes from greed. You know the saying, "The rich get richer and the poor get poorer." The rich do whatever they can to keep what they have and gain more money and power, even at the expense of others. Then they make a show of feeding the poor unfortunate souls in another country to prove they really are generous.
Meanwhile people in their own country are starving and without adequate medical insurance. Not that I have anything against helping out those less fortunate than us ... but what kind of person would I be if I fed my neighbors kids and didn't feed my own?

I believe it comes from the misuse of resources. If we are one of the wealthiest countries in the world we should not have starving children or people who cannot afford a doctor or medication.
The rich get richer and some could feed a small country and not notice a missing dime, but what do they do?BUY MORE ****!!!

I think it arises more from the fact that people in poverty are encouraged to have more children adding to the total living in poverty while those with affluence have fewer children causing fewer people to inherit larger amounts of wealth...
Feed a million starving people and soon you'll have two million starving people..... 'Ismael'

Sure, to a point. It becomes difficult for an individual to move forward if their environment does not provide that resource to them. Still people have to make the choice to allow themselves to go beyond the box they feel they are enslaved in.
