Wash them off as soon as possible. Don't know about leaving wax on a car, but I have heard of spraying cooking spray, like Pam on the front of vehicles to help them come off easier.

Aren't they terrible? Hand wash it VERY good and then put on a coat of wax. Don't rub the wax off.
