Alot of pistol/revolver rounds come in +P/+P+ ( ie: 9mm, 38Sp.), but I've never heard of 357Mag. in +P. Does that mean there is one standard load for the catridge (I'm asking about the pressure or charge not the bullet weight)?

DaveBurke is right. The .357 Magnum is already loaded to maximum pressure. The +P, or +P+ designation means that a cartridge is loaded to higher pressure than "standard" loads. If you want more performance from a .357 Mag. you have to hand-load your ammunition. This isn't a silly question. A lot of people are confused by this.

According to my reloading info, there are is no hand load data that would suggest that you should even try going past the industry maximum average pressures for this round, (35,000 psi)

i think magnum loads are already boosted as far as safety allows. +P wouldnt be necessary.

Shooting a +P .357 from a snubbie would be PAINFUL!
