I think we are far too busy in Iraq and Afghanistan to even consider a hot war against China.
Maybe when the oil starts running out and The West and China start competing for oil resource we may see a total war. That will not be for sometime yet.

World war III start in the 90s. Radical Islam is now doing battle in more than 30 countries around the globe, that should satisfy any definition of a "World War." Too cowardly and inneffective against organized militia and armies they are killing noncombatants, women and children thru cowardly terrorist acts, the "Jihad" has been declared and is being carried out all around us, while we sit back like lambs to the slaughter.
What makes this war different from wars in the past is that these monsters cannot be negotiated with, they are perfectly happy to die and visit Allah and their 70 virgins (I'd like to know what the 70 virgins did to deserve this cowardly group). Ultimately, either the Muslims will kill or convert all nonmuslims or the Muslims will be eliminated from the face of the Earth.
Time to pick sides.
And for all you liberals out there, the Muslims find you the most repulsive of all, if they have their way, you'll be beheaded first. The Muslims find the entire "west" decadent and repulsive and blame liberals for the path western civilization is following.
The Christian crusades happened for a reason, unfortunately the Muslims are going to force another crusade. Look at the Pope's remarks a few weeks back he quoted a fifteenth century Pope that basically said that Mohammed had brought forth only violence, the Muslims were so insulted by this "false" characterization of their faith that they gunned down an elderly, unarmed nun. Well that's one way to prove you are a religion of peace. A nun that forgave her killers with her dying breath, now then which is the religion of peace?
It's time to recognize that we are at war, with an enemy that wants all of us dead, or buy a prayer rug.

Look don't follow what some religion tells you. Think for yourself. Follow what you think is right not what some book tells you. Thinking for yourself is so important.
As for China/Russia... I watch CNN a lot and I often see how friendly the Russians and the Chinese are. I think the Russians are missing the old Soviet days when they were a world superpower equal or even more powerful than the USA (look at the link,... almost every party has Workers / People's / Red / Communist in the name).
Also I think that the Chinese are too happy with the position they are in right now. They are a world power for sure. And as long as Russia/China don't have people like Kim Jong-il in power I doubt war in 2008 but I do think that if WW3 came around China and Russia would be allies.

i'm baptist and as a baptist i just go by what the Bible says. there is going to be another great war (WW3 i asume) and it will be the begining of the end for man when we have the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. it says that we will never know when it will happen only that it WILL happen. So in my mind just the act of predicting a time or place already makes it false. thats only my view. i'm no big geinus or what ever just what i believe through what i've read and heard. also just because you practice a religion does not mean you can not be a free thinker. you are not forced to think or believe one way its more like a set of rules and beliefs. its not a cult...lol!!

What makes you think it hasn't already started. War is a constant raging machine. It's fueled by the treaties of the previous war and the conditions it creates. War has been fought in the name of God for thousands of years, and it's still going. Something we once took for granted is starting to run dry and oil is becoming the new gold. With every step the United States tries to take forward, it sets the rest of the world back two.

what you are referring to is armageddon! the end of time, the second coming of christ ! most people who make this kind of statement believe what they say but isn't always so.. it says in the bible that no man knows the hour or the day of his coming.."jesus christ"! get the bible and read the last chapter of revelations..this is what they are referring to ww3 is armageddon.. but i don't believe the world is going to end in 2008 although according to the bible allot of the things are in place for the beginning of the end there is also allot that has yet to transpire! but then again who knows best to be prepared don't ya think?

According to my Hindu religion no WW3 is going to take place. But what i heard was that it was supposed to have taken place in the year 2000. But it didn't. Therefore just relax girl. even though if it is going to take place we Indians won't allow it to happen.

Probably not but we could do with a change of government - this lot's record of misleading us into pointless wars doesn't fill me with confidence on pursuing the right foreign policy.
