I'm currently 7 months into an 18 month contract with 02 but having major problems with them and i'm looking to get away from them, ive heard networks can buy your contracts but i still have 11 months to go. does anyone think they would buy it if i was offering to take another 18 month contract with them spending £35 a month?

I've not heard of networks buying a contract just to sign you up. The only time I know of this happening was when T-mobile (formally named One 2 One) had people who were still on original contracts where all calls at night and weekends were free and the company offered to buy the contracts back from customers just to get them off the contract. Some got as much as £1,500 to surrender the contracts - lucky people.

I don't think that a highstreet retailer would buy out your contract unless you were potentially going to be worth a lot to the company (most shops only get a limited amount of money for putting you on to a new contract) What you can do is call up your current service provider and migrate your tariff down to the lowest one possible (I think on o2 this is £20 per month) and run out the end of the contract like this. When it gets to nearer the end of your contract, it would then be much cheaper for a shop to buy you out, and would be more inclined to do so. See what online stores can do as well!

If you can get out, come to T-Mobile - excellent service. However, best bet would've been do your research before going with a naff provider. Next time, get pre pay to get the feel of the network - it's easy to switch to contract if you want to later on.

Given the number of different contracts available, and deals are changing almost daily, your best bet is to go and talk to someone like Carphone Warehouse or Phones4U - they can go over your current status, and work out all your options, and they are not affiliated to any one network, so it should be unbiased.
