but isn't that basically the same thing through absentee voting, you could have someone mark up the answers for you through the ballot sent to you...
and for your info, I am a absentee voter...
well, thx for the answers, I guess voting online isn't going to happen from fraud and viruses alone.

It's far too difficult to verify and regulate.
Give any computer hacker a challange and he'll meet it every time, so even the best security system cannot be secure enough to trust something like voting to the internet.
It would be nice, but at this time, just not possible.
Besides, they're having enough trouble with the electronic machines they put in polling places as it is.

Any form of electronic voting is controversial to say the least. Popular opinion is that it has a high potential for fraud do to the lack of a paper trail. Online voting is an even less secure idea. Having a paper trail is the tradition and seems a more "honest" way to vote. And we certainly could use some of that these days.

those human beings answering this question are retards. they are protecting voter fraud and hackers, and scams. Thats crap. Can hackers harm in chase morgan financial organization organization expenses, no. How can there be voter fraud if everone has there own passwords and expenses as quickly as you verify in on line to vote. id fraud is impossible different than they have your password and account extensive kind and that they won't replace or upload greater suitable votes as in the present day as your vote is counted and confirmation extensive kind is sealed which you will print or keep as pdf. Now scams are the only way like phishing information superhighway web content to do voter fraud in case you have not voted already and sealed your vote. Now like something on line being knowledgeable on those scams will shield your vote. i'm particular the genuine vote casting internet site could have records on on line voter fraud and the concepts ought to keep you pronounced. Why believe vote casting machines they are computers which would be altered, an considerable authority guard server is a few distance greater suitable trusting, hell you're arranged to do your taxes on line appropriate? you will get your bmv checklist on line appropriate? they could additionally keep computerized tallies of the votes and prepare you what extensive kind you the region documented for, for their and your concepts to maintain and which grant help to appreciate which guy or woman is forward on your state, interior the journey that your vote made a difference.

Voting isn't about "convenience"... it is about doing your civic duty. If you're too lazy to get an absentee ballot or get your **** down to the polling center you don't deserve to vote.
That point is besides the fact that there are way too many ways to commit voter fraud on-line.

It wouldn't be too convenient if you went to vote online and your area had a power failure, would it? Also, how can your real identity be checked, unless your fingerprints could be stored on line, and somehow that seems spooky, if not downright invasive . In order to vote, you MUST prove to the election judges that you are the person you claim to be, so HOW can you do that on the computer??? I mean, your stupid 15-year old brother could be voting for you!!
Also, and THIS is the BIG factor, voting is a PRIVATE affair, and the internet is anything but private.
You know, not ALL people in the world are allowed to vote, so we need to continue to guard our own methods of insuring, safe and free elections.

Are you kidding!? ONLINE!? Electronic voting machines with no paper trail are already under deep scrutiny for being hacked and allowing voter fraud, There is absolutely NO trail with online voting. At least with the machine it is limited to one voting location.

the web isn't considered reliable or secure enough for on-line voting to happen yet. I don't think there is a reliable way yet to prevent individuals for voting duplicate times or from preventing bots from creating multiple bogus votes
