Just one ship, or a fleet? Either way, it sounds scary. I think Israel's gonna have to help them out militarily on this one if something goes down.

Iraq and Iran share the same gulf. Remember, there is a three mile limit and the rest is international waters. I doubt the battle group with get three miles or closer to Iran. I just think it's just part of the Iraqi conflict.

Not really, its just an ominous reminder to the Iranians(whom want to destroy Israel and most of the western world) that we got guns and missles too(like Teddy Roosevelts big white fleet during the 1920's and 30's.A show of mighty power,so tread softly if your gonna play and act like a big boy!

look at it like this ... israel and lebanon were a softening up of "iranian" forces and an excuse to deploy large numbers of nato troops on the mediterranean/syrian theatre, as well as a large number of ships ... there is currently being deployed in the persion gulf a huge force to, consisting of equipment that has absolutely no use for iraq like minesweepers and coastguard rescue ships and it is a multinational deployment and has ships from several countries on both "theatre" sides ... somthing is taking shape ... it is NOT a normal deployment it is much larger and more diverse

Naval ships are in and out of the Persian gulf all the time.

I don't think it means a lot.
