I've seen them in the Hematite, but have never found any that I can buy to use in my jewelry.

I think you are referring to a drilled donut bead. Try www.firemountaingems.com.....I am pretty sure they have them. If not,you will be able to find them on Ebay if you keep checking about once a week. I had to keep an eye out for about 3 weeks to find a very specific type of pearl for a project and eventually I found a strand.

I am not exactly what bead it is you are looking for but you should look at Shipwreck Beads- they are the world's largest bead store and have more beads then you can imagine. The website is included below.
