If I get all my required science courses done but major in business or economics as opposed to biology will I have the same chances of getting into a medical school as someone with a Biology degree, mind you I would have 4.0 GPA or very close I am just having a hard choice with majors, thanks!

Yes, major in something other than biology. I went to medical school. (undergraduate in microbiology) Got the M.D. - Hated every forsaken stinking single second of my existence for 4 years. So much so that I didn't do a residency, got an MBA an no longer work in anything related to health care. What a wonderful life. Everything is easy for me now.

You will be more well-rounded and majoring in business will help you after med school. Doctors don't know diddly poo about finance or accounting or business. And who knows, you always have something tangible to fall back on. Bachelors in Biology will get you nowhere.

As long as you've got the required sciences and math courses you shouldn't have a problem. Take a look at the AMA site online http://www.ama-assn.org/. In the menu at the top you'll see a section devoted to Med School and residency. Lots of info here. Contrary to popular opinion physicians have very little personal/family time. Their lives are spent in service to others. It is a calling. Though the rewards can be great just know that there will be many many times when you ask yourself if its worth what you've sacrificed. You will sacrifice. So will your loved ones.

Major in something you want, enjoy and can do well in.

As long as you get the required science courses done and do well in them, you can major in pretty much anything. Just do well in whatever you decide in.

It's better to be 3.8-4.0 in something you love, than be 3.0-3.5 in Bio just for the sake of being a bio major, even though you'd rather major in something else.
