either they never knew how to respond to your query or can't find a witty answer to one smart question.

dont yoo just haate peeple woo coorect you spellling wene yoo no hoow two speel correcctlie?
--
Wel, I dont rily het tings lake dat
sorry...
Well, I don't really hate things like that, I don't even care.
People do mistakes no one is perfect.
It's just the *Mr. perfect* job who has no other job than critics.
--
so whats the big deal if i mispell a word?
--
Well, for you it's not, but think it from the bright side,
You could be more care full [when typing] if those people do not stop their critique right?
--
has anyone else been corrected by a person from a question you asked?
--
Well, I haven't, since I just ask 2 question and both of them are short one.
Note:
Just use the "check spelling" if you are too lazy to check every word that you type.

Unless the meaning changes, due to a mis-spell of a word, it should not matter, whether somebody corrects or not !
Just that there is a common courtesy , to draw attention to some error, and it is not possible to evaluate just from the error whether the person who erred was otherwise capable of spelling it correctly .
Many a times, a loose button on a shirt or so opens , and some body who notices it, helps by drawing our attention , which doesn't mean that we do not know how to put on buttons !
So also the headlights of a car remains on during day time inadvertently, and out of courtesy, somebody gently honks while passing by, or flashes his own lights..
Please reconsider, and try , not to feel offended... But the formation of the sentence was nice, well mis-spelt, without troubling the reader to make out its meaning.
Thanks.

I hate it when someone fusses about the spelling and doesn't even bother correcting or answering the question in the place first!
To all the perfectionists out there. YOU CAN CORRECT BUT NO NEED TO BE RUDE! People make mistakes! Not everyone has English as their first language.
Thank you!

Tee hee. I've never had anyone correct me, but I'm pretty careful about spelling (just always been that way). Still, I wouldn't correct anyone's spelling because it's not my place. I know that most people are in a hurry & have better things to worry about. I just let it go. As long as I know what they're saying, it's not the end of the world!

If you know how to spell, then do it. If you know how to use "spell check" then do that also. There is no excuse for not putting forth your best effort.
It is also a show of your level of maturity, when you know how to build a correct sentence or use the tools that are available
You can also look at it like "practice" for the "real" world!
(If you misspelled a job application, I would toss it in the garbage without another consideration!!!.)

We know the correct spelling and yet we commit mistake. That is no excuse for expecting others not to point out our mistakes. You may perhaps react to their response with knowing smile, if you know for certain the reason for your mistake. There is no point being hostile to such finger pointing at you. Perhaps, you may also react the same way, when some one else commits an obvious spelling mistake. In learning a language and learning to write in a language, you learn through such experiences.

well, by spelling the word incorrectly in the first place, it leads people to believe you don't know how to spell. how can someone just assume you know how to spell things when you constantly spell them wrong. there is a big difference between typos and spelling errors though.

you should have said "I'm sure people including me know how to spell correctly". I hope you don't feel the same way about grammar corrections as you do about spelling ;)

no, i don't hate it. i appreciate the gesture. lacking telepathy, as people seem to do, how is one to be certain another knows proper spelling (or grammar... or usage...)? WHAT IF THEY'RE BRITISH?! furthermore, i have ocd, and anyone misspelling anything (myself included) drives me, literally, mad. i do try to keep it down, on YA, however, lest THEY get me (the spelling reformers! will they have us all speaking esperanto, the devils?!).
