I have recently found a lump in my breast. Only problem is that the lump is not in a spot where they could use a normal scan to find out. My grandmother died of breast cancer the year i was born. What is the best thing to do?

go to your gynecologist and then they will probably send you to a breast health clinic like susan kolmann- if they can't do a regular mammo on you then they will probably do a sonogram - just like when women are preggers...same thing

The best answer for you is to see yor doctor. There are way to check the lump no matter where its located. If you have a family history of breast cancer even more reason to get checked soon.
Good luck and call your doctor.

October is Breast Cancer Month.
You can also call National Toll-Free Breast Care Helpline:
1-800-462-9273.

This is the best answer.

Go visit your primary care physician for a professional opinion. Since you have a family history, its in your best interest to further investigate what the lump is all about. Diseases and cancer these days seem to be altering and showing up where they normally didn't before. Good luck

See a doc ASAP! Breast cancer is more cureable now than before, if caught early! I know it's scary, but it'll be alot more scary if it gets bigger or spreads. You definately don't want to chance this. Do it for your dear Granny, I'm sure she'll be smiling down when you get it checked (it may be nothing at all!) Good luck.

Make an appointment and get it checked out ASAP.
Your at higher risk since it runs on your family.
Even if it's not in a spot they can scan your doc can certianly feel it, like you did, and the doc will be able to tell you what to do from there.
Take care!

I found one in my breast, it turned out to be a swollen gland. If you're worried, I would definitely go and get an exam. Things like that shouldn't be ignored!

Go to a doctor. You don't need Yahoo answers to advise you. You need a medical professional who can tell you if this is something you need to worry about.

This is serious enough that you need to get it checked. Don't wait.

best thing to do is to get a mammogram, and get the doctor to check it out. It most likely is nothing.
