Use parenthesis. It would really help.

Is the question (3y^2)-(5y)+(8)
or is it (3y)^(2-5y+8).

I assume it's (3y^2)-(5y)+(8)

Hey, dude - if you post all your math problems here and get people to do them for you, what are you going to do when test time comes? Will your teacher let you bring your laptop into class and post the test questions too?

People who just give you the answers aren't really helping you, even if they think they are.

a=3;b=-5 and c=8
use the quadratic formula
y=[-(-5)+/-rt(25-96)]6
=[5+/-rt(-71)]/6
=[5+/-ity71]/6
