its located in the town of Syracuse in the state of New York. its north of the state's capital(Albany)and for us New Yorkers, its considered Upstate NY.

Syracuse University (SU) is a private research university located in Syracuse, New York.
Officially chartered in 1870, Syracuse traces its institutional roots back to 1832 when it was founded as a seminary by the Methodists.
