Technically, it should have a period because it is shortform for "versus", but through prolonged usage, vs without the period has come to be a "word" in its own right.

its definately vs. the one with the period because it is an abbreviated form of the word versus. You could always write Toyota versus Honda and avoid the whole issue lol :)

That is definitely vs.... there is no period after the 's' because the vs stands for one word and that is versus

vs. as vs. is the short form of versus. Any abbreviation has a . to it.

Grammatically speaking, anytime you have an abbreviation such as "vs." for verses, you always use the period after the last letter.
