The system over heats every 30 minutes. is this true. i wen to game stop and they told me that is this true or not.
i wanna buy one but now i'm not sure what to buy a PS2, wii, xbox 360, or a gamecube.

On the terms of the PS3 over-heating, its not out yet for one, and secondly, I doubt any major corporation will release a game system that is prone to over-heating and shutting down. Imagine how pissed off the gamers would be.
I agree with sketcher, go for the xbox 360, it has a decent library of games out, whereas the PS3's game list isn't so great now, which makes it worrying being so close to release and no decent looking game in sight (I didn't consider GT for its pay-to-play business model).
I have the xbox 360 and its awesome. Don't bother investing in a PS2 or a Gamecube, they have limited lifespan left, why invest huge amounts on a game system that is going to leave? Its like paying money for a Pentium 2 system when you can afford a one of the damned new ones, yes it'd do the job, but which'd you rather have?
The wii looks damned interesting, I just hope the games that come out will be as innovative if not more innovative that what is being announced, it looks damned sweet already.

False, don`t listen to GameStop or EB Games sells people they even know how to play games. Buy a PlayStation 3 you will be able to play all your PS1, PS2 games. Also you will be able to download any song with Singstar a music service coming out to the PS3. You will also be able to upload videos or music like a file sharing program. Is going o bring that huge 20 or 60 gig hard drive either one is good also everything would be pure high definition. PS3 brings a built in web browser that works just like the one you using but better. Xbox 360 and Wii both are not worth owning they got horrible game support. PS3 is the perfect console for a true gamer.

The guys (or girls) at Gamestop have no clue. Nobody does except Sony. There were reports about the Nintendo Wii and the PS3 freezing up on people in gaming expo's (i.e. TGS) but nothing big. I would say go with the 360 because of the library of games out for it, the price, availability, and mainly because it really has proven itself over this last year. You have games like Gears of War and Halo 3 coming out for it and not to mention you can download all the free demos you want straight to your hard drive. I still don't have one but all my friends do and I really do envy those bastards.

its not true obviously. if the ps2 has a fan why wouldnt the ps3 have one?? and even if it over heated that fast they would fix the problem before shipping it here to the u.s from japan
