I am doing a paper on abortion and I read that abortion is the only surgery in which the surgeon is not obligated to tell the person the risks of the procedure, or the exact nature of it. Is that true???

Any doctor of any worth will explain the potential risks of any procedure to his/her patient.

If they don't, find another doctor immediately. There is no such thing as a risk free procedure, no matter how minor the procedure or how skilled the surgeon.

Surgeons have to tell patients the risks of any surgery. Although a big deal to a lot of people, to a surgeon an abortion is just another surgery, with the same rules and regulations.

I think the doctor is obliged to tell everything. What stake here is a life of another person. The question here is, why do they conceal such thing that has a risk to life?
