It is not hilarious. You said you never watch football, so why would you. Just for your information, the yellow line is to mark where the team needs to get to get the first down. You get 4 downs to either score, or get a first down (for 4 more). It's ok, my girlfriend knows nothing about the sport,, but she watches it because she knows i love it so much, and she tries to learn stuff about it.

I don't think it is hilarious. I didn't know what it was for a long time. It's to show how far they have to go to get a first down. I don't know much about football and just recently learned alot.
