I often have strong flashbacks to certain smells.

With mine the sights are very vivid and clear. It'll be like a certain scene from my dream and I go '..whoa. I remember this.. freakish.'

It's scents. I can't remember the exact terminology but I learned in a psychology class that the olfactory section of the brain is the most powerful of the five senses when it comes to triggering memory recollection.

I was just going to say that! A friend of my father's built boats by hand, and his shop had a wonderful smell from all of the fresh shavings!!

Taste. Everytime I drink a Pepsi I think of my dead grandpa (we always had it at his house), and also every time I have homemade ice cream.
