I think I have several viruses - nothing can pick up - tons of programs and scans - can't do Hijack this cause I don't know how to read a log or what to do with it and I heard that you really have to in order to use it..

Is this from a virus?? It is normally on 2% or lower.
:(

It does sound like you have a virus, or hijacker. I have had that issue in the past, and I took my computer in to comp USA, and they cleaned it. The problem is, once you download virus protection, ANY non- name brand virus protection (norton or Macafee) they say those programs actually contain ad ware and things they claim to get rid of. If you want peace, take it in, get it cleaned up. OOO and then change all of your passwords.

It depends on what you are doing at the time. If you are just sitting there watching Task manager, probably 2 to 5%. Programs that are running in the background can cause it to fluctuate. It shouldn't stay at 100% but a few seconds.
Make a list of the processes running and check out the files to see who the processes belong to. If you see some strange name in the processes, use Windows search to find it and find out what it is.

cpu performance jumping up to 100% is normal if u have a low configuration system and running high performance applications.for example if u start an application which requires high resources, then the cpu utilization will be 100% during the loading process and once the loading is completed the utilization drop to normal 5% to 10%.This is a normal process while loading and running your applications.

If it does it fast, and stays at 2% most of the time (like 90-99% of the time), then you're okay, everyone's computer does it.

If not, then I would get ClamWin and/or AdAware and run the scans, just to make sure.
