I'm fascinated by this, as today, teacher's aren't allowed to raise their voice (it seems) to reprimand a student, unless they want to hear from the student's parent. I witnessed quite a bit of abuse in my grade school, of course back then, teachers were permitted to slap kids around (early 80's). But thinking back, it just seems so barbaric and abusive on an obscene level.

So did you witness a lot of abuse in school? Or were you lucky enough to attend a grade/junior highschool where physical abuse was NOT allowed?

Yes. A relative of mine was often abused in school. He was hit with thick wooden sticks, straps and other things until he was bruised. Back then, that was considered acceptable. In fact, the rule in most homes was that if you were whipped at school, you deserved it, so no recourse was ever taken by parents. I saw a lot of students get hit with rulers, switches, paddles and other things. I was the "teacher's pet" type and thankfully didn't get in all that much trouble...or I should say that I was able to talk my way out of it, minus a few smacks here and there.

A 6th grade teacher, Betty Murphy, physically and verbally and emotionally abused kids in her class on a regular basis. What a witch! Their ability to socialize and learn was destroyed by this peron who was entrusted with a classroom of kids.

When I was growing up kids were paddled alot but that was no big deal. I did see this teacher drag a boy out of the gym one day by his ear which seemed a little harsh.

Yes, and alot of other kid's in the 50's. I had one teacher that liked to put you in the coat room, with the door closed., and the furnace was in there. Guesss what, I got to take care of her in the 80's, because I became a nurse. No-I couldn't be nasty to her, but I sure thought about it.

The STRAP was on the teachers desk in plain view...& I witnessed a little bit. The school then wasn't the real threat...it was what your parents were going to do to you when you got home from school.

One question to ask your self is that if he became no longer your instructor - purely some guy you met out someplace - could you be as attracted? Is it him, or the undertaking, place, fantasy of a pupil instructor courting? no rely if it rather is him - i could wait till mid or previous due wintry climate to work out in case you nonetheless sense that way and then enable him understand - and be mature approximately it - by ability of telling him it may be too risky and unprofessional to start a courting on an identical time as you had a pupil/instructor courting. this would possibly not purely earnings a ton of admire yet teach your mature previous your years. greater importantly, by ability of telling him you have an interest yet prefer to attend, if he has interest, it is going to heighten his interest - understanding you prefer him and he can no longer have you ever (yet). i could wager that over the few months of waiting his interest could then amplify - as quickly as you graduate - pass get exhilaration from him and characteristic a brilliant summer!
