(Note: The Paul Simon category includes recordings from Simon's years with Simon and Garfunkel. I did this because Garfunkel is a glorified back up singer who never contributed anything of value. Had I seperated the two Paul Simon would still retain his number two position on the chart.)

(I am also aware that other decades exist beside the 60's and 70's, but, few bands have relased 15 good songs since then.)

Leaves out the Clash, the Velvet Underground (or Lou Reed generally, although his career has been a bit bumpy), the Talking Heads, Brian Eno, etc. One person who should definitely, definitely be on this list is Tom Waits.

Cool methodology, though.

no kidding, i totally agree about your last statement that not many artists released more than 15 good songs since 60's were over. Though in my opinion Sir Paul McCartney has way more than only 26 good songs. I'm a big fan, and I can think only of a handfull of not so good songs that he has, but that is just my opinion.
