I really, really want a new food processor. Ours broke and I've been using the mini-processor we were given as a gift. It's just too small and besides doesn't have the slicing blade.
I'd also like a mountain bike; I have a perfectly rideable 20 year old 10 speed but I'd really like a mountain bike ;-)

it really depends on the age of the boy and girl, if they are out of the house and on their own dishes pots pans and towels could be practical, as well as a giftcard to their favorite stores, then they can get what they want and/or need and if they still live at home i would probably get something that they have seen on tv and expressed an interest in or something that they collect.

A car CD player and a game for my Nintendo Wii. I kept it simple and under $250. Not bad! :-)
